If you end up ruling the roost at Ramsay, how would you like to be addressed Your Majesty?

Or Fuhrer? :p:

Do you think there is an arts/sciences divide between Ramsay/Ifor Evans? I got the latter, and so did a friend of mine who was in first year French last year. I thought this morning that this might be an Ulster trend, but then I noticed that the medics were supposed to be big at Ramsay...or is it all random? I don't really care though, I'm happy with Camden! Congrats by the way - although you knew you were going all along didn't you? See Graeme got into Queen's? He was delighted. Good luck!

There really does seem to be a big arts-science divide now you mention it. Maybe because the scientists actually spend a decent amount of time in UCL doing lectures and practicals while the arts student doss around drinking cheap wine and occasionally deigning to write the odd essay for 3 grand a year :p: They deserve to get kicked out to Camden!

I know...it was fantastic! Very pleased for him. Ooooh I've worked out who you are...we were talking about you last time we met up (we did a walking tour of sex shops in Belfast...there are a surprising amount of them!) Have a good results night? I was rather *******sed and had to be carried home....where I fell on the kitchen floor in front of my mother and had to be dragged into the living room. Ooops.

Black Books all the way... I incidentally do live near Newry, though I can't promise that I partake of a little streetwalking there

I got a single at ramsay hall..and ive heard that its a really good hall and everything..the problem (for me) is that its catered..i really wanted a self-catered accommodation because i have special dietary requirements due to religious reasons..is there a kitchen at ramsay where students can cook their own meals? or is it possible to switch with someone? or request another accommodation from the UCL housing office? I'm really confused..

Reply 26

Did you select self-catered and get catered? That's odd.

Btw, maze, there ain't enough room for the two of us. We'll have to fight.

I dont remember whether I put ensuite as my preference or self-catered:redface: but im sure that i mentioned my special dietary requirements..

can anyone who's lived in Ramsay or knows a lot abt it tell me whether "small kitchens on each floor for student use" are equipped for proper cooking (i.e. is there a refrigerator, microwave, stove, etc) cuz if i cant swap with anyone, i'll have to live with it:s-smilie: and just prepare my meals myself.

just wondering..are there any ensuite rooms at ramsay?

I also have a single in Ramsay!

I think the kitchens have an oven and a hob, but no pans, plates, cutlery, microwave etc.

No microwave???
I know it's catered but that's quite harsh.

Does anyone here fancy setting up Ramsay group on facebook? I can only find ones which are for the years that have just been spent there.

Reply 30

There is actually one for 2007-08

Good thing there's a Ramsay FB page - otherwise we'd be missing out on more of those gems!!

And I thought I'd seen all episodes of Black Books - that show is pure genius :p:

Philo could be Der Hausherr (loosely translates as Lord of the Manor) lol And hey, you already know me (except you don't): I'm also on MSG but under a different username. Fancied some variety :-) Remember that whole raptor thingy a while ago? That's moi, hehe.

I vaguely remember, but can't really. Do enlighten me! At least by pm!

but honestly food sucks in ramsay really...

BTW if u have read last yrs PI-magzine, ramsay is selected to be top 1 ****ty hall in UCL...

Where did Astor come?

Reply 35

I've been allocated to a single at Ramsay, too. But I'd gladly swap for someone in Canterbury--the bathroom situation there seems to be much more hygienic.

Ah, well, in any case, I enjoy being 5 minutes away from campus.

Reply 36

Does anyone have pictures of what a typical single room at Ramsay looks like. Thanks.

Reply 37

got ramsay ... let's hope it's not as bad as some people make out ;o

Reply 38

Of course it won't be - you'll have me!
