Anglo Russian Union ARU proposal.
A possible solution after Britain's complete detachment from the EU could be to form a Union with Russia to appease those who don't want Britain's complete isolation.
With the victory of Trump who is pro-Putin, its possible that a he could encourage May into new friendship with Moscow. That could mean in many years we could eventually enjoy a Russian-British free market with freedom of movement, visa free travel and freedom to work, live and study in Russia without need of work, study or residency permits.
Of course it would be reciprocal in that Russians would have those same rights to come to Britain. That could anger some BUT there will be a lot of repatriation post Brexit including possible closure of the channel tunnel. So there will be much fewer non British people living in Britain post Brexit. Most Russians love their country so are unlikely to move here on mass.
Secondly a Anglo-Russian Union would give us border to border links with Japan and China. Both Britain and Russia would benefit immensely from this. A new high speed railway line could be built from the Pacific coast and China across Siberia to Kaliningrad and St Petersberg with fast ferry service to Hull and Newcastle. Regular flights between most UK cities and Moscow, St Petersberg and Vladivostok would be needed. This would revive our budget airlines that could become redundant post Brexit.
It would also benefit British schools as they could revive modern language teaching (which is being phased out post Brexit) when pupils would be taught Russian.
I must emphasise this would be a Union, not Russia adopting Britain or vice versa. We would both retain our national flags and laws.
The Anglo-Russian Union (ARU) flag being horizontal Blue Red with two white stars in the centre. Each colour appears both in the Union Jack and Russian tricolour. The white stars would represent union of Britain and Russia.
