How is the massive expansion of the clinical school going? Are you worried you won't get the clinical opportunities your predecessors did?



Most gynaecologists revert to Mr in the UK. But he's american so I guess you're right.

Should have applied to Oxford instead for an easy life :colonhash:

Haven't heard about the expansion, still stuck in the Cambridge pre-clinical bubble.

What I meant was that I will not discuss anything related to my interview or the interview of others. Sorry for the misunderstanding. But I am happy to give some general advice.

Try not to over-prepare for the interview, just make sure you know your biology and chemistry topics that you mentioned in your SAQ. There will be a science-interview, which from my experience, is very similar to supervisions in a way. It's better to show that you can work out the problem and get the answer at the end, rather than knowing the answer straight away. They are not looking for people with eidetic memories, but people who can think.

I've not been to SCHI or ISBM since their first two lectures. Moodle is good enough. Emma is so close to Babbage and Downing site though :h:

To stop people from PMing me: what were you asked during your interview? Some interviewers do reuse their questions from what I heard from my DoS.
It's a shame you weren't there a while ago, because you would have been lectured by Prof. Whyllie in 1B Path: he was an excellent lecturer. Are you still lectured in the Bristol Myers Squbb?

Shame.

Nope, bulk of our lectures are held in Babbage, which is in the renovated New Museums Site. Anatomy and practicals are held in Downing Site.
How much time do you have for socialising or sports/societies etc?

Social context of Health and Illness (known as SCHI). Sadly lectures are never really interesting so about half of the people don't turn up (including myself :colondollar:)

There are always time for them if you plan and manage your time well. It's a good way to blow off some steam.

Lol seems like its the same everywhere. Our equivalent at Edinburgh is HES and not many people seems to enjoy it ^^

Yes, I hear it's all very swish now over at New Museums. My only advice for you is to have a flapjack or Millionaire's shortbread in the Path tea room whenever possible and be nice to the ladies in there.
