I don't know about you, but I hear certain buzwords hurled at trump: sexist, racist, homophobic, islamophobic, etc. you can say "who said he's homophobic" but I just hear it so much that it seems almost to me at least.

is it because he's a republican?
but how is he even a "Republican" with a big R? he used to be a democrat - he used to even support universal healthcare. he clearly is not the kind of almost theocratic (and hence homophobic) movement that is represented by those like cruz, carson, rubio, romney, ryan, palin, etc. he was specifically rejected by them, mostly. he is against the warmongering, he is against the crony capitalism, and clearly, he is against the religiously inspired homophobia against LGBT individuals.

"as your president, I will do everything in my power to protect our LGBTQ citizens from the violence of a hateful foreign ideology": - it's around 1:10secs in

so he is standing up for LGBTQ individuals, and standing against islam - a totally logical philosophy, seeing as being gay is not bad while having hateful beliefs, backed up by a holy book, clearly is, isn't it.

and before you say "his support is based on racist islamophobia" - he is against islam, not arabian, eurasian or north africans, for a reason. why is it such a terrible thing to dislike an ideology that is very visibly against gay rights? just because most muslims aren't white that doesn't mean that their IDEAS are a part of their race - race and ideas are separable. there's no excuse to have a bad ideology, whether it's political like nazism or religious like islam.

and, obviously, he supports gay marriage.
I could talk about how he is not a racist too but I'll just stick to this issue too. while gay and trans people will think that trump is now going to have them against the wall, it's that same stereotypical mentality that causes people to think of democrats as communists. they are profoundly exaggerated, both of them. in fact, democrats are hardly different to the mainstream arm of the republican party, right? we in the UK can look upon their party system in a more logical way seeing as we actually know what socialism looks like, relatively speaking

Well, he chose Mike Pence as VP...
the vice president has no power.
what, are you going to say that trump's support for the LGBT community is totally overshadowed by his vice? might as well say that obama's entire legacy was destroyed by clinton being the sec of state
and before you start saying things like this, I could go on and on about how hillary only changed her mind about gay marriage as soon as she realised it was in her interests as a presidential candidate. she didn't need to change her mind in 2008 because her competitor hadn't changed his mind (obama) either.

I'm explaining you why he is perceived as homophobic. He is close to people that aren't exactly gay-friendly (Sarah Palin, Newt Gingrich, Mike Pence, etc.). It therefore leads people to think that he doesn't like gay people as well.

ohh right, so you're explaining how the reasons are totally illegitimate then. clinton once described a former leader of the KKK as her "mentor" as well - is she suddenly a racist? or: okay, we'll go back and dig up some dirt on everybody she's been politically in bed with and call her every buzz word under the sun, as opposed to basing our perspectives on policy positions.

When you say something, and it is contradicted by what you're doing, people think that you weren't sincere. Moreover, Trump has flip-floped on pretty much everything, so his word has little value. Do you understand?

(I'm not a supporter of Hillary Clinton.)

Of course he's not homophobic, it's too good a weapon to deploy against Muslims and there is not that much of a downside as gays are more accepted these days. This kind of thing is why Trump was a more desirable candidate than Ted Cruz and why the first group of people he had to woo were the religious right.

Take the Muslims away and he would be as homophobic as he needed to be to get his voters worked up into a frenzy.

Also Mike Pence, he who is without sin, wants to strap gays to a chair, electrocute them until they have developed psychosexual erectile dysfunction and have female prostitutes molest them.

Republicans just looooove the big state when it's being used to break people psychologically and force them to live their lives in the way Republicans want.

I'm not sure what kind of mental gymnastics you're pulling to convince yourself that Trump isn't homophobic given that he is opposed to marriage equality, he is opposed to civil unions, has opposed various other equality acts, has supported FADA, and has employed an anti-gay religious nutjob as his VP.

why is he saying all this pro-LGBT stuff then? does that mean hillary is also homophobic for voting in favour of the homophobic defence of marriage act?

why are you saying that as if it's a bad thing? muslims are homophobes. every poll imaginable confirms this fact. I can't believe you're being so supportive of basically the most socially intolerant group in the western world - it's not just an opinion - it's a fact. I can't help but compare this to supporting nazis even though one might know that they hate the jews. you might be black and have respect for nazis simply because you're of a different race; let's say most nazis were whites and you came from a majority-black society. it's actually the same exact effect, except muslims have a religion and nazis have a political ideology. but what's the difference? they're both philosophies with regards to morality. in fact, both muslims and nazis are homophobic. you're going to take a different view surely because of the extremity of this comparison, but just because it's seen to be extreme, it doesn't make it wrong.

Also Mike Pence, he who is without sin, wants to strap gays to a chair, electrocute them until they have developed psychosexual erectile dysfunction and have female prostitutes molest them.
yes I'm sure that's why trump picked him, sure

is trump really a "Republican"? does he adhere to the republican party machine? and the republican party big interests? or does he make it his *****? exactly

why would you dislike gays? what do you have against them? what have they done to you? are they harming you? do they hate you? tell me. I'm bisexual - what would you have against me exactly? what I do sexually is surely nothing that damages your interests, unless your interests are totalitarian.

I have nothing against you but we live in a free and democratic society and if a person doesn't like gays then that is his/her right.

So long as he/she shuts up about it, sure.

If not, expect me to use my 'free and democratic' rights to slam your a*s. Don't complain about it

Actually you don't have that right as that would be illegal.

Because he opposes gay people having equal rights under the law and chose as his Vice President a man who wants to electrocute them into being straight.

Pence has been a staunch opponent of efforts to expand LGBT civil rights. In 2000, Pence stated "Congress should oppose any effort to recognize homosexuals as a 'discrete and insular minority' entitled to the protection of anti-discrimination laws similar to those extended to women and ethnic minorities."[161] He called for "an audit to ensure that federal dollars were no longer being given to organizations that celebrate and encourage the types of behaviors that facilitate the spreading of the HIV virus" and instead advocated for resources to be directed toward institutions "which provide assistance to those seeking to change their sexual behavior".[162][163][164][165] Pence has said that homosexuals should not serve in the military, saying, "Homosexuality is incompatible with military service because the presence of homosexuals in the ranks weakens unit cohesion."[166] Pence opposed the repeal of don't ask, don't tell, saying in 2010 that allowing gays and lesbians to openly serve in the military would "have an impact on unit cohesion".[166][167] In 2007, Pence voted against the Employment Non-Discrimination Act, which would have banned workplace discrimination on the basis of sexual orientation.[168] Pence opposed the 2009 Matthew Shepard Hate Crimes Act,[169] saying that Barack Obama wanted to "advance a radical social agenda"[170] and said that pastors "could be charged or be subject to intimidation for simply expressing a Biblical worldview on the issue of homosexual behavior".[171] Pence opposes both same-sex marriage and civil unions.[172] While in the House, he said that "societal collapse was always brought about following an advent of the deterioration of marriage and family".[173] He has advocated a constitutional same-sex marriage ban but did not champion such a proposed ban for his first year as governor.[174]

This. This is whom he chose to be his VP.
