P sub level correspond to 3 orbitals. Each orbital can hold a maximum of 2 electrons. Therefore 2p can hold a maximum of 6 electrons.
An orbital is a volume of space within which there is a 95% probability of electrons existing there. All sub levels have orbitals but a varying number of them.Last edited by SANTR; 12-11-2016 at 16:44.
