    Hi everyone,

I am from Vancouver, Canada heading to the UK to study Law.

I'm not too familiar with the schools over there but I have applied to University of Leicester, University of Sheffield, University of Liverpool, and City University of London based on recommendations from an advisor.

Out of these schools, which ones are best known for their academics, social life, reputation?

Which schools provide good law related volunteering programs?

Also, does the reputation of the school matter to employers in the UK or is it more about grades/networking?

    Thanks a lot!

    Regards,

I think City is probably best for Law, and it's definitely the best placed to offer law volunteering programmes/internships (being in London). But Sheffield and Liverpool are good too - I don't know much about Leicester so can't really comment.

I don't think reputation matters that much, as long as you go to a decent university (which all of your options are), your grades and work experience are more important than you alma mater. That said, I hear the Law sector can be a bit elitist, so it is a good idea to go to the best university you can.

I suggest you look in the Legal forum for more information re volunteering / careers.

Awesome! Thank you so much for your response! I'm actually leaning towards City and Liverpool myself.
