Can implantation bleed occur at the same time a period does on the pill? watch

Hiya, i was just wondering if implantation bleeding could occur at the same time your period would? I am on a combined contraceptive pill and have gotten my period yesterday, (which is usually when I expect it every time, so it wasn't late or anything) and I have been getting PMS symptoms and everything for the past 10 odd days. However, my period seems to have been much lighter today. In the morning it started off pretty heavy and has gotten extremely light as the day progressed. Typically I wouldn't worry about this at all, but within the first week of the new pack on the third day of it I was 3 hours late taking the pill as I wasn't home. I know that if you miss a pill (which I know that I haven't, I was just a little late) within the first week, it is better to wait for the next 7 days before having sex without any other extra contraception. I only waited for 6 as I totally forgot. What's going on? I had a gym class today, so could that be it? Or do I have something to worry about?

Three hours late is no problem at all, so it's probably just a normal variation.

If you're worried a pregnancy test (the own brand / pound shop versions are much cheaper and as reliable) will confirm that you're not pregnant.
