They sell packs of cookie dough in Sainsbury's and I do recall seeing them in Waitrose too I think. They are usually in the chillers.

Yummm, cookie dough!

I've seen cookie dough sold in UK supermarkets. It was in tubed packaging like biscuits and in a chilled section.

I also once bought some Aunt Bessie's ready-to-bake cookies, didn't bother baking them though, I just ate the dough. :p:

Try this recipe for the dough, it's delicious and it's safe to eat raw as there's no eggs in it. It's especially good if you freeze it and eat it, but of course I'd never try that

200g soft butter
75g caster sugar (or a light brown sugar is really good)
125ml condensed milk
1tsp vanilla essence
250g plain flour
1tsp baking powder
300g choc chips

Asda do tubs of it in the baking aisle!

Yes, you can cook it - the instructions I've got say Gas Mark 4 for about 15 minutes. Maybe it was my oven, but I found they burnt really easily and didn't spread as much as I'd hoped ... I was expecting a Millies style cookie (gooey and soft) and these were a bit hard, thick and crunchy. I'd imagine though that if you fiddle about with the cooking times (I think they need to be just slightly undercooked) and roll it into smallish balls (maybe big marble sized) they'd make a nice cookie. However, the dough is so good that I generally don't have enough left to bother with the baking bit lol

I made this last week!! Seriously, it is the best stuff ever! We ate some raw, which was good. But then we froze it, and it was amazing! Everyone should try this! :p:
