Is Eric's character the same in Act Three as it appears to be at the start of the play? Why could this be? Can somebody Help with this.

i'm pretty sure Eric starts to change. He starts to get more sympathetic towards Eva Smith especially when he realises that she was pregnant with his baby.

At the start of the play he is describes as "in his twenties not quite at ease, half shy, half assertive.
he seems like an awkward person "Eric suddenly guffaws"

He is more understanding like Sheila when he hears his father sackeD eva smith he supports the worker's caise."why shouldn't they try for higher wages?"

The more you read the inspector calls you realise that Eric hates his parents more when he hears about the horrible things they have done. For example he is really angry and upstey that his parents aren't accepting what they had done was wrong and he says to them"i'm ashamed of you". Whe Birling tries to threaten him in Act 3 Eric is aggresive in return"i don't give a damn now". in Act 1 at the start he hadn't stood up to his father before in this manner. this shows how Eric's charachter doesn't appear to be how it was at the start where he was "half shy"

i hope this helped pm me if you need more questions to be answred
