Don't say that! My results are definitely not stella but we still have more than a year to make our personal statement amazing and practice the admissions tests. You never know😁

Don't listen to the muppets who think you will get an offer just because you have all A*s (inc a grade 9(s)) at gcse... It's not true. Cambridge honestly don't care much about them. It's the admission assessment that will decide whether or not you get an interview, not your GCSEs. Which is very difficult, by the way. Even the most able candidates flop terribly at it.

TSR is not representative. And this thread even less so.

And GCSEs aren't hugely important.

Nonsense. If you do really well in your A Levels, you'd arguably look better than other students for having improved so much in a short period of time. And as others have said, they'll care much more about your ability at the time of applying (your predicted A Level grades, etc.) than your ability 18 months before

You were doing so well, then this codswallop:

Hey, don't worry about your grades; the most important thing when you come to apply will be your improvement, dedication and the passion and flair you show for your subject during your interview and assessments, not some memory test you did a year before applying. Your grades are good and people have got in with far worse so don't give up xx

I'm still thinking about applying for vet med but I'm not sure. I got these grades
Biology- A*
Chemistry- A*
Physics- A
Maths- 7
Further maths- B
English language- 7
English literature- 8
Art- A*
Ict- A
Geography- A
Re- A (1 ums off A* so may get a remark)
French- C (so happy I passed)

Overall I got 4A*s, 6As, 1B and 1C so I'm not sure whether I would stand a chance at Cambridge. I am taking biology, chemistry, maths and further maths at A-level

So I got my GCSEs today (along with everybody else). My school predicted me 777, 2A*s 4As and 2Bs (also no prediction for further maths).

However when I got my results today I was in completed and utter shock. I ended up with 988 6A*s and 3As, with one of the As 2 marks off of an A*, so I will definitely be looking to get that remarked now.

Before I got my results, I thought that getting into Cambridge for engineering was merely a dream, however hopefully with good results, I will be able to perform well in sixth form and achieve my dream.

Yeah that is unless their definition of flop is that most students who get A*s in a-levels will probably get around 50%...

TSR doesn't account for everyone, and nor does it provide an "ordinary" sample of the people that will be applying It's likely that there will be loads of others like you who don't post here.
