I have an interview for Primary PGCE at Sunderland uni, and I have to take in artefact and present how that could stimulate learning, I was thinking of relating my object to current matters e.g. this week is Anti-Bullying Week Do any of you could think this would work or should I stick with something more traditional?

No, I think that's fine, but think carefully about what you want the outcome of the children's learning to be. If it's Anti-Bullying Week themed, it can't simply be that they should know that bullying is bad because most children already know that. It could be a stimulus that results in the children writing a narrative/script in which someone successfully seeks help with bullying. The children's work could then be used to educate others whilst giving them the opportunity to hone their writing skills etc. Having a good outcome in a core subject would be good.
