...would you abort the baby, or keep it?

    Do you think it's ethical?

I was watching a documentary about this which can be found here.

Having a Downs kid is basically having to care for him for life (more likely a he anyway). Unless you're willing to give up your life for him, there really is no point keeping him alive.

Pro-tip: They wouldn't have down syndrome in the first place.

I'd like to think, Abort. I feel its unfair to give a child a life full of misery if you already know.

However I guess its probably extremely difficult to even abort without feeling like ****.

Abort because you wouldn't want to see your child suffer everyday of their life.

This is more a question on what you think about abortion than what you think about trisomy.

I couldn't possibly make a decision about it unless I was in the situation.

I'd tic what the partner thought, but I am sure it would be abort from me.

Keep the child, but I wouldn't judge others for having the termination.

    I would abort

Some people with downs live very happy and fulfilling lives. Some are very unwell. Personally I don't think I could inflict that on a child.

But might feel different if I was actually pregnant...

As a man I'd never encourage a partner to abort a child if it were to be born with a serious disability or condition. If a partner did want to look into abortion then I guess it'd be discussed.

    I'd abort, no questions asked.

I don't want kids personally but if I did, I would abort if I found out my child was going to have a severe disability, mental or physical before being born. It wouldn't be an easy though. Having an abortion is a hard enough experience but having to go through it because of your baby's ill health must be heartbreaking but I would still feel it was the right thing to do.

it's probably really easy for us to say 'abort'. But until we're actually in that situation....

I'd like to say abort but honestly I think I'd end up keeping it and call them my little "superhuman".
