# Factorising quadratic? watch

1. Im working through quadratic sequences but the second part of a question confuses me.

a)The first part of the question asks you to factorise the expression 5x^2-19x+18 =
(5x-9)(x-2)

________________________________ ____________________________
b)The second part asks to use you answer from a to factorise the expression
5(x-1)^2-19(x-1)+18

How do I apply my answer from part a to this question?

Thankyou

The new expression is identical except (x-1) has been substituted in place of x.

So take your factorised solution and do the same: substitute (x-1) in place of x and simplify each bracket.
