Need to let off some steam and hear your comments

So i've started a job in london recently and its my big break. This is my second week.

It's really stressing me out. I'm worrying about what everyone thinks of me, i'm worrying about when and if i have ****ed up stuff.

And today i just lied to a colleague for no real reason, and it was an unimportant lie but wtf did i do that for? it's not like me! and now i'm terrified that he'll find out and i'll look like an idiot...who lies.

what the hell is wrong with me?!

youre scared of making and bad impression. you probably lied so as not to disappoint your colleague or put yourself in a bad light.
it does happen but dont make a habbit of it. trying to live your life under other peoples eyes will make you so fake.
try not to worry about if they will like you for you and just be yourself. its easy to say but its for the best in the end

You said it yourself: It's your second week.
Chill - stop putting so much pressure on yourself to do well. I know it's easier said than done, but make sure you take frequent breaks from the work, and chat to as many people if you can - the sooner you make friends, the sooner you can relax AND get help when you need it. Good luck

My Cod-psychological powers tell me that you lied to your colleague because you're trying to reinvent yourself as someone who can cope with this situation, or it could be a form of escapism.

Obviously you're good enough to do the job or you wouldn't have been hired, but it's normal to feel sick with nerves in case you mess up or let yourself down. Just remember that you're obviously capable, your superiors think so too and if it all goes pear-shaped (which is unlikely) you can put it in a book.

just calm down and breathe, ok so you lied lets start again and try not to put so much pressure on yourself. Do your job and you'll be fine. Simple but true
