Iam currently in my second year and trying to transfer to another university :-(
Is it possible in the UK to transfer whilst still on a course, even considering redo my second year if I have too, has anyone any experience on this and knows how to go about this?

Um, yes, talk to your advisor of studies and the admissions people in the relevant faculty/department/school of the university you wish to move to.

Take a look through UCAS and be sure to make your decision wisely.

There are also a few university guides and tables online, here's the Times Online one.

It'll likely take some time while they work out how to interpret your results in the previous institution, but yes it's fairly easy.

As for good universities - depends what you're studying and what your marks are like (since, after all, a few of the University of London colleges are amongst the best unis in the UK).

Iam student at London Met and really regretting this fact, I am a international student and had no idea about UK university rankings

The teaching at London Met is absolutely horrendous, very, very sloppy, misinformation etc.

Iam currently in my second year and trying to transfer to another university :-(

That is sad.:frown:
I hope that you manage to transfer out and perhaps get a reasonable job afterwards.

Unfortunately there are a lot of problems with a lot of universities. It is a shame when international students are paying thousands of pounds. As mentioned above check UCAS, do your research on this site, look at the course description, facilities etc and make your decision from there

London Met is indeed regarded as one of the worst, if not the worst uni in the UK. Transferring is easy if the uni you want to goto minds!

Hmmm, they lost your coursework and you had to do it all again? Wasn't it word-processed so all this involves is pushing ctrl+P and handing in another copy? You surely must be given receipts for work you have handed in, in which case the university assumes all responsibility for your work, meaning it cannot be turned around to say "You haven't done this work, do it again". Similarly with this person's dissertation, I find it hard to believe they would not have another copy which takes 10 minutes to print out.

Aside from nit picking your story, not all universities, in fact many do not, accept transfers into 2nd/3rd years. You may be faced with the harsh reality of having to start your entire degree again if you want a transfer. I flirted with transferring in my first year but after being told "Don't accept transfers" at a couple of places I realised I have to spend 3 years somewhere so I might as well just get on it with it.

i went to london met, it was my insurance choice in 2005. GET OUT!!! i left after 6 days and i rang my mate to tell her (she had also gone there) and she sed "sorry mate i catn meet up i actually left 2 days go". everyone iv spoken to has said its awful, i went back to college did an access to HE course which was FREE and got in to Newcastle uni. although the irony is now im not happy at newcastle either cos its so far from home lol so I'm transferring to uni of kent at canterbury for 2nd+3rd year. i spoke to my tutor talking about which uni to transfer to and i mentioned id been to london met so was unsure bout going back to london and her response was"oh god no you can do better than london met". enough said i think.

Im looking at transferring to different uni but not sure how to go about it, i want to move in September from Coventry to either Warwick or Birmingham im doing a foundation year in computer science now and would be starting the computer science degree proper in september.

First of will this count as a transfer as im not currently doing a proper degree if not am i best waiting until autum to transfer as i don't think i have any chance of getting in based on my A-levels hence the foundation year.

Secondly i know somewhere in the wiki there is information about transfering but i have been searching and i can't find it.

thanks

Nope not all Unis give receipts, my last one didnt, just hand in essay and thats that.

And there was at least a few essays go missing each year!
