Years and years ago. Used to locum there and it was very boring!!!! It'll be a standard interview like you get anywhere else. Here are some questions I've been asked in job interviews, although it was some time ago as I only worked for a couple of years in pharmacies full time before I did my PhD.
1. Why do you want to work for........pharmacy?
2. Can you tell me how the role of pharmacy is developing?
3.Where do you see yourself in 5 years?
4. What did you do for your final year project?
5. What is your opinion on the new NHS contract?
6. If you where checking a prescription, and then the phone rang, then a patient asked to speak to you, then someone from head office texted you, which would you deal with first? (The answer here is just to explain why, rather than there being a correct answer).
7. What CPD are you planning to do?
8. What are your ambitions for the business side of the pharmacy, how would you increase OTC sales?
9. How do you balance OTC profits and professional ethics?
10. Can you give us an example of a pharmaceutical problem you have come up against and helped to solve in your work experience?
You might also be asked about the new contract- MUR's, head lice, smoking, clinical governance as the dispensing fee is being squeezed in favour of these extended services and they will want to make sure you are able to bring in money in this way, by setting up the services with the primary care trusts.
Good luck!
