friend doesnt think they did anything wrong

so i asked my best friend if they could hang out on a particular date two weeks in advance and they said they would have but they absolutely couldnt miss anymore classes. thats fair enough, two weeks go by and i talking to them about what theyre doing that day, they reply saying they were going to skip class if they hadnt prearranged a lift into uni, they wanted to speak to some lads they knew and they might actually skip their afternoon class. i felt annoyed by this as i felt like they blew me off, why say they couldnt skip class then tell me they were going to skip class on the day for any other reason than they didnt want to hang around with me in preference for the lads.

they dont think they did anything wrong, what do you guys think?
