I know that WJEC isn't a major exam board and there isn't a lot of revision material ( isn't a lot meaning none) so I think this would help those who have Psychology with WJEC. I plan on posting more, mostly to help myself revise and to help others, too.

What is the three assumption of the Positive approach?

1. Acknowledgement of Free Will: This means that you have the power to make your own choices and have the freedom to make decisions yourself

2. Authenticity of Goodness and Excellence (AGE): This mentions that you need to recognise that negative emotions are natural and are just as important as positive ones. It also states that you need to enhance and nurture your signature strengths

3. This assumption is called Focus on the Good Life and it shows that there are 3 lives; the pleasant, good and meaningful life. The meaningful life is the one that everyone should ideally aim for

-Thepleasant life is about having a positive experience from events that happened in the past, present or future

- The Good life; this life is about having positive and authentic emotions, positive connections to others and having life regulation qualities which links to Free Will in the first assumption.

- The meaningful life is about believing in spirituality and in a higher being. This usually means having a faith/religion.
