Parkwood - Kemsdale Court

Parkwood's pretty big, so I thought I'd narrow it down.

Anyone going to be living in Kemsdale Court in Parkwood too? Figure we might as well get a general idea of who we'll be living with. :p:

I'll be in 3/F and studying English and American Lit.

oo we might be in the same classes..i screwed up on my module choices apparently they are 'uneven' so i'm gonna do it tomorrow..its so difficult tho gah

I still haven't been able to claim an IT account, let alone modules lol. I just hope all the good ones haven't gone.

Does anyone know what it means with the number? Is it the number or something?

I didn't have to choose much, cos film takes up 60 credits and the compulsory english takes up 15, so I just picked the romanticism module to fill up the rest! Have you read any books yet?!
Reply 6
I'm just doing Eng. and American Lit so I've got 60credits to fill up. I think I'm going to take Intro to Lit and Science, Modern Spanish Novel (it says you dont need to know any Spanish so i thought, why not?!) and Intro to psychology...it actually sounds quite a lot now. I'll probably end up cracking from the overload. Or most likely, end up ignoring all the work and just party instead.

I am guessing intro to psychology will be like A level stuff., I did AS Psych, want my old text book in case it comes in useful?

Seems like everyone but me took psychology in AS or A level. Lol. Cheers for offering, i might have to take you up on that. Though, they probably have a ton of books for me to mull over.

I get the feeling the majority of my money is going to go towards buying books! I heard English is like a book a week to read.

Yeah I am lucky I got a larger loan as my family is poor, but me thinks it will go on a lot of books! I love reading so hopefully will whizz through the set stuff, but will be a bit poo not having time to read things I enjoy as well. Oh well. Will just have to play more playstation instead haha!

Your in Kemsdale right, is that near Farthings?

I've read a couple of the books on the reading list, but I'm starting to think that maybe i should've read 1984 last year like I promised myself!

There's a map on the site and it looks like Kemsdale and Farthings are on the different sides of Parkwood. But they say Parkwood is 5 minutes walk to the main campus so I can't imagine there's a long distance.
Here's the link: http://www.kent.ac.uk/maps/canterbury/index.html

You started shopping/packing yet? I figure since it's Bank Holiday weekend this week, I reckon I could get more stuff with the sales! I didn't even think of bringing a playstation! I might need to get a PSP instead though. I don't think my brother would be too happy if I just took his PS2. Lol.

Is this the list we got in that handbook thing? Ho hum I had better start reading something actually useful.

I got most of my kitchen stuff, my Dad lives in Ashford about 15 mins from Canterbury so he took that down last week to his to save car space when I move everything else. I need to get an iron and a toaster and loads of stupid things like lightbulbs and cleaning stuff and bin bags lol. Tesco do a good Value toaster and iron btw, dead cheap, they are what I am getting, and if you lie near an Ikea you can get a lot of stuff there not too pricey.

I am def bringing my PS2, my sister never plays it so I have already decided to bring it! So if you are missing yours you can come have a go on mine

I think so. It mentions a couple of books - some of which I think I have already, but never really read.

I went Asda to get my kitchen stuff. :P I've got my plates and cutlery now - i have to stop getting too much because i keep getting that nagging feeling that i'm missing something! I'd probably just end up bringing too much! My mum is still in denial of me leaving and is refusing to get me stuff on the basis that i'll be coming home every weekend anyway - she's even looking to see what trains I can get to come back! She's beginning to scare me now. Lol.

Might have to take you up on the PS2 offer. But i should warn you that no matter how hard i try, I always miserably fail. Except in Tekken for some reason - it's like all my rage is channeled. Hehe.

Yeah I managed to get some cheap crockery and cutlery. I'm guessing we'll be in the same kitchen so I wonder if everyone's had the same idea. We're gonna have a mountain of crockery! Haha
