Oh for God's sake  Ignore the previous poster(s). Stuff like putting a tampon in, horseriding, light petting, etc...they can all break your hymen. If you do any of the above, it's likely that you've broken it or, at the least, stretched it. Don't worry about it. If you did do it with that specific tampon then yes it might have bled more, but it won't have done you any harm.

Just to add to Laces' post, it doesn't matter if your hymen is broken or not. It's not important, and it breaks really easily.

Also, I'm assuming you're a virgin since you didn't think it was broken before, and I just thought I'd point out that you're still a virgin - some people get mixed up about that and think they've lost their virginity because their hymen has broken

Hope that helps.

I find the idea of losing your virginity to a tampon rather amusing  But I guess it's not something to laugh at as it's quite serious for some cultures

Oh dear is it gonna hurt to put a tampon in...? :s-smilie:

Ive always been too scared to use a tampon just incase it hurts. is it true that tampons are harder to insert and more painful if you are a virgin?

It will if you convince yourself it's going to. But TONNES of girls start using tampons before they have sex (I did by about 8 years, I think!) so it's obviously not totally impractical.

To the OP - you can have a look with a mirror - there are plenty of diagrams on the net, though they may be more confusing than helpful. If you've used tampons regularly though, it's likely you don't have one.

Wiki hymen, compare to yours in mirror. If you have a tough hymen or a very small hole in it, tampon use might be painful, yes.

But it's more likely you're just angling it wrong and/or tensing up, tbh.
