    Not very much really. The purpose of us actually getting internet in halls isn't for the fun side of things.

    Stream stuff instead. Stage 6 (http://stage6.divx.com) is awesome for streaming and downloading over HTTTP (not P2P, benefit!).

    Forget torrent.

    Forget the myth about uni having super quick internet, my halls was downloading at around 75kb/s-100kb/s a second. No faster than the average household

    Thats Good ^ Isn't it? I got 2MB connection and it's only downloaded that fast a couple of times.

    i was in camdbridge halls last year and while i couldnt get anything to work, one of my flatmates was able to download the entire series of lost via p2p! i dont know how he did it though...

    And to be honest, althought it's illegal, I can completely justifiy my reasons for downloading: I am obsessed with music. So obsessed that if I had to buy every CD I downloaded I'd make my whole family bankrupt. It's not possible...I can't live without constantly discovering music...

    they can usually trace you for p2p downloads..

    a guy in the USA, did it in his Uni's p2p network, downloaded 5 songs, and a week later he was getting sued by the MPAA for it..
