So i already done M1 M2 M3 and got 94 , 99 and 80 each..

And i want to do S1 S2 S3 to get A at Further mathematics

Do you think i can accomplish studying alone S1,S2,S3 without a tutor?

How difficult is it?

Do you know any resources on the net that can help me?

Thanks in advance:smile:

You must study both FP1 and FP2 (and perhaps FP3 dependent on exam board) to qualify for F.Maths...so basically you will only be able to do one stats module.

you'd have to have c1+c2+c3+c4+m1+s1 (or m1+m2 or s1+s2) for normal maths and the remaining 6 for further maths, but it'd work. I think.

Yes that will work fine actually, although they will not bundle them like that.

I taught myself S2 and I got 75 . It was easy peasy. You could teach yourself that in no time at all. If you want, you can use a calculator that does the binomial and poisson calculations for you.

I also taught myself S3. I thought the S3 edexcel book wasn't very well written. Unlike S2 I found the text book difficult to follow. Questions that I could have done in 5 minutes took me days to traul through simply because they failed to give sufficient example or explanation. It is a slapdash approach found throughout the S3 textbook and is a right pain in the arse (I was confounded straight away in only the first exercise!). So I went into the exam hall with a patchy understanding of the subject matter and ended up with just 45 marks.

Oh and S1 was cool (perhaps not as enjoyable as S2 [calculator buttons galore!]). I didn't teach myself but I think you can do it. There are quite a few things to learn for it, but ultimately you just need to practice like all the other maths papers.

S1, S2 and S3 are vastly easier than M1, M2 and M3. It shouldn't be a big problem, especially if you've done Stats GCSE.
