Yep. I reckon the jeans are a size bigger than usual. I'm a size 6 in there whereas I'd be a size 8 everywhere else.

Yeah, I can't keep my size 12 jeans up from there, yet i sometimes can't even fit into a 12 in Topshop.
Hmm, I love River Island keans and most of them fit me well. However I do have one or two pairs that are quite baggy on me. Still love them though.

Yeah i agree, i'm a size 8 usually but even the size 6 jeans are too big for me from RI =[
their mens sizes can be slightly larger as well in my experience, their XL t-shirts can be a bit bin-bag sized and loads bigger than the Large (ie poorly cut, just a huge baggy section at the bottom)

I find their tops a bit big.

I hate their jeans, you wash them, they shrink, you wear them they turn too baggy, you wash them and they shrink...argh

urg, i totally agree! and they get baggy in the worst places..the ass and the knees of the skinny jeans. Attractive....
I work at RI so I have loads of jeans and they are big sizes. I am size 6 elsewhere and wearing size 6 jeans from RI is too big on the waist which is so annoying as I am constantly pulling the trousers up so it doesn't slip down (thats even with wearing a belt too).

I also noticed that the jeans go baggier after couple of washes and increases to a size bigger.

Yup, my size 8 jeans are quite roomy, I'm usually an 8-10. They've washed well though - they haven't stretched.

Their jackets seem to run big too. An 8 fits me whereas I'd usually be a 10.
vanity sizing.

like H+M size their clothes so small, topshop are "average" (seeing as that's the store i buy most my clothes from, particularly jeans, i base this as my norm) and UO seem to be a bit tighter than that. stores with older customers seem to have baggier clothes..like next or oasis.

I definitely agree with H&M being too small! Everywhere else I'm a size 12 (sometimes 14 on bottom) but in H&M I have to buy size 16 bottoms!!! Anywhere else a size 16 absolutely drowns me.
The sizes are really screwed up. A month ago I bought a pair of size 6 slouchy jeans from RI. Today I tried on a pair of size 6 bootleg and had to ask the assistant (was rather embarassed) to get me a size 8 and then a size 10. 8 was too small and 10 too large.

Does anyone else find river island's clothes (particularly their trousers..) a bit big? I sometimes fit into a size 8 there in jeans when I'm a size 10 practically everywhere else usually.

Same here  and skirts and shorts i can fit into an 8 with space
