Medicine with average grades?

Hey,
So I was hoping to study medicine at a top uni such as UCL, Imperial but in my GCSE's I got 2A*'s 7A's and 2B's (literally below average for an aspiring medicine student). I've heard this will really limit my chances as people usually achieve 10 A*'s.

Could I still possibly go to a top university to study medicine or should i be looking at other options?

It's entirely possible to be offered a place at medical school with these GCSE grades. Some medical schools concentrate on GCSEs more than others, but all will weight your predicted A level grades, UKCAT/BMAT and interview much more highly than GCSEs.
