Hi everyone! I was looking and saw that there is no 2017 entry illustration threads
Im currently studying my foundation degree at Northampton and really enjoying it! We just chose our specialisms last week (Ive known for ages ive wanted to do illustration, but means starting next week we will have a personal tutor for our chosen specialism)
My personal deadline for UCAS is the 8th of Dec., The courses I am considering doing (in order of preference) are:
-Middlesex- guaranteed studio space, really good facilities, but said on the open day the acceptance ratio is pretty low (around 5:1 denial:acceptance) and accomadation is pretty expensive. pretty fancy buildings all in close proximity to each other
-Worcester- went to the open day today, the course itself seems pretty interesting and the work being produced was really good, aswell as lots of interesting oppurtunities and good accomadation options,
but the facilities in comparison were a bit lacking and its sort of in the middle of nowhere.
-Northampton- as I already go there im already familiar with the facilties (probably got the best printmaking facilities in the country, multiple mac suites+ theyre building a new swanky campus)
-Coventry- seems to have a good reputation and good oppurtunities but seems very techy (good for some but im more a traditional getting messy sort of artist). not sure its really the course for me and theres no just illustration course
-UAL- going to the open day next monday, seems to have very mixed reviews but the illustration course has a good reputation.
anyway, what courses are you thinking about? feel free to leave suggestions and opinions!
