Grade boundaries? Also...worth a remark?

Does anyone roughly know the grade boundaries of:
(OCR)

RS B
Eng lit
Eng language
History B

For English language I got an A-but hear me out. I am considering a remark of that paper...but I would have to achieve about 7 % more marks for an A* (I think)

I achieved 250\300 with a breakdown of:

Non-fiction, media and information- C 57/90

Different cultures, analysis and argument A* 89\90

Literary heritage and imaginative writing. A* 54/60

English speaking and listening A 50/60

Overall an A. However, the C for 30 % of the exam doesn't seem to fit with the rest of the results? Or this may mean, I am a very analytic and persuasive but I am only average when it comes to writing in the manner that is required for non-fiction, media and information.

Why would you need to remark GCSE's? I don't think its worth it - An A* is roughly 90% (or was 5 years ago - i assume its the same now), and to work the rest of the grades out, minus 10% for every grade down the scale. It is possible your just not as good on the non fiction side of things. (everybody has strengths and weaknesses, hence the reason theres different modules and assessment methods)

Yes-you have a point. I'd like to hear other people's points of view before I come to a decision. I am personally surprised how I could drop a large number of marks on one paper, when I got nearly 100 % on the other.

At GCSE i was the same. It wasn't my chosen subject anyway... Depends what your going onto do at A-level/uni if anything, as to whether its important and needs working on or not.

I'm doing English Lit at A-level, but I don't think, if I go onto Uni, I would want to do it. However, people change, and it may have a slight bearing if I do decide to do English Literature at university.

I may just mention this to my English teacher, but I doubt I will have the paper remarked. I'm already having my history paper 1 remarked, it will sound silly to have this one remarked too. Of course, the English teacher might say "you could have easily got an A in that paper, get it remarked." Or he could also say, "I have evidence to believe, infact, you were struggling with that part of the exam paper in English. I wasn't surprised to see you only got a C in that paper."

They should get a good idea from how others in the class did on that paper too - if everyone bombed it maybe your teacher wouldx think OK, but if your the only one then they may be 'well you probably didn't do that well in the exam'.

Yeah-thanks very much for your advice. To be honest-it's just me wanting an A*. One of my friends-who got a B overall in English language-actually got a C in the same part of the paper as I did. In the mocks I achieved a high A on all the papers for English Language, so I was surprised at that C. However, I think, unless I do ask my English teacher's advice (which is positive and encouraging) I won't get a remark of that paper.

Just see what your teacher says - it might be that the exam was just hard.
