Hi. I've always been interested in publishing, and recently have become very keen on the idea of being a literary agent. I'm just beginning to research this career though, so can anyone give me any information? Salary, prospects, day-to-day duties, qualifications, absolutely anything at all. Thanks so much. Also has anyone got any work experience in this area? If so what, and how?

Thanks guys!

If you go here http://www.author.co.uk/agents/index.htm and email all of them asking for work experience, it's actually relatively easy to get some! I emailed a few of them and got a couple of responses asking for an interview. Trying emailing a few publishers as well asking for work experience - they generally are quite happy to take someone on.
