Feeling lovesick

It may sound weird but I am really feeling lovesick right now. I mean life is hard enough as a young man with the things going on in my life right now, but to compound it all I have fallen in love with this person, and the fact I am so far away from them really hurts me. All I can think about is them, and it really makes me feel ill.

So has anyone been like this? What do you do to get over it?

Think of it this way, you'd miss feeling this intensely if you didn't so be grateful that you can. Might not be much consolation but it's true. How well do you know them, can you email/write to them?

Yeah, a couple of times. I didn't handle it very well. I stalked them on Facebook :s-smilie:

How did you fall in love with them?

It probably wasn't proper love. I think i was about 17 at the time. Just unbearable crushes. If you don't see the person the feelings become manageable though.

Edit: Not that 17 year olds can't feel love. Just that at that age i personally was prone to having strong crushes and thinking it was love!

How long ago was this? You still have feelings for them>?

No, not at all, i'm 21 now and have a boyfriend of my own! I think it took about a month at the time though. But then when i would see them again it would stir up old feelings, couldn't stop thinking about them etc. Thats why not seeing the person i had a crush on worked for me.

But it says on your post that you are really in love with this person. So its probably a totally different story for you :s-smilie: Do you know how she feels?

I'm in the exact same situation as you, and have been for the past 1-2 months! It's affecting my life in general - every aspect of it ! I'm not sure what advice to give, but I hope it helps to know you're not alone!

I'm in the same situation too, have been for almost a year now, it doesn't seem to be getting any easier either...sorry for being no help at all, but like em1n3m said maybe you'll feel a tiny bit better knowing your not the only one...

I email and write them as woften as I can, but this girl really has no clue about how much I love her, and her internet access this summer is spotty at best.

She sees me as a friend, but the pain comes as I realise she likes a other guy and will probably have begun dating him. I wish I could cry it out, but all I can do is lie in bed clutching a pillow hoping that I could break my own heart: at least that way it wouldn't hurt so much when it beats for her.

There is no way to get over it. It is hormones.

Yeah, it takes time to get over it. The first time it happened to me, that took about a month to get over it (and that was five months of a serious crush on a girl), and since now I can't believe I made that much of a fuss about the first one, the second time took me about a day to get over it (and a hangover, heh).

I was in the same situation...in the end we kissed, decided it didn't feel right and we're better friends than ever.
Dunno how often that works, but good as a last resort peut-être?

It's called being 18/17/whatever before the age of 20...

You get over it as soon as you start to get laid regularly...
