Depends on the universities you're going to apply to. Check with them. Its a bit too late for admissions into this year btw

Great expectations
I graduated from the IB in may this year. I went to the IB in Sweden (but I am half american), therefore my A1 language was swedish. I have a bilingual diploma, with a 7 in english, do I need to do the TOEFL test in order to get accepted to an american or brittish university?

Thanks for answering!

From what I know, with British unis, if you've been in an international school for 3 years you don't need toefl. I think an IB diploma would also work as a proof of your English ability. Do check with the unis.

With American unis, they want all foreign students to take toefl even though they have a good grasp of English reflected on their qualifications :s-smilie: Are you American or Swedish by nationality? I think American citizens shouldn't need toefl.

It's easy peasy anyway :p: You can do it half asleep and still get a very high score.

You don't need it. Even if the prospectus says you need it just call up and explain your situation, and they'll let you off.

Otoh having another qualification would never hurt your chances.

If you have the bilingual diploma I don't think you should need it but check with the uni.

For UK unis they'd ask for IELTS which from experience I can tell you is waaaay easier than TOEFL. Both are a piece of cake though, but TOEFL is so much longer, thus more boring, thus more sleep-inducing.
