Stomach problems

If it's that bad you need to call NHS direct and see if there's an open surgery that you can go to - I noticed from your details that you're possibly in Chesterfield and if it's that bad just go to Calow and get seen.

I had something similar a few years ago and it really wasn't sensible of me to leave it - I'm not trying to worry you here but don't mess about with your health.

Lansoprazole? So you would advocate a life long treatment involving a pill to play around with the chemical output of your very cells when some simple gaviscon anti-indigestion treatment would work just as well?

This isn't urgent. Gaviscon will undoubtably settle it, and the only thing that might be needed is a trip to the docs at some point, and a simple test performing to look at a certain bacteria that sometimes lives in the stomach and causes problems. 1 simple course of treatment and its eradicated forever.
But you can get that done in germany - probably easier than here actually.

Its not life-long... the perscription will be for only a week. Its recommended that the pills will allow your stomach to settle down, and with a slightly altered diet (mainly less hot food and less alcohol) it should be ok.

Mine came back after a few months.. got a 3 month perscription of the same drug and now ive been ok, though i do take a shot-glass of Gaviscon after eating anything strong or drinking.

If this doesnt work then they might do a blood test for the bacteria, Helicobacter Pilorii, which can be treated with antibiotics, but acidy food will still make it worse.

It IS urgent if its bad.. i was convinced it would go away.. ended up spending days in bed, unable to eat or sleep because it hurt so much :frown:

If you really cant get to a doctor, go to A&E. it'll take a few hours, and the pill they'll give you will only last a few days, but it may be enough to get to germany and see someone there.

Just had to drive to Sheffield to go to a walk-in centre. Could only see a nurse but he thinks it's gastroenteritis. Gave me some nausea tablets anyway. Will book an appointment for a doctor on Tues.

Yeah. I didn't think it could be gastroenteritis as I've had that before and I was throwing up loads.

But yeah, I was desperate at that point. Hopefully be able to see a doc tomorrow.

Got to see an emergency doctor yesterday as I passed out and was sick, woop, basically in agony.

He told me it was alcohol induced gastritis. And then gave me a lecture about alcohol  On some tablets now, feeling bit brighter.
