This thread may well sink without a trace, often my threads do (though not on this TSR RHUL forum so much!!)
Anyways Im guessing many of you as I am are excited about RHUL. We've asked many sensibe and also some random and odd questions.. But I'm not sure if I know what to ask however I'm esxcited and want to know more and get a feel for RHUL further.
So, please anyone who knows any random things, stories of anything that happened there, favourite things, random things, favourite places/activities anything they'd like to say about RHUL at all then say it!!
I love the baguettes in Café Jules in the International Building. Expensive, but good, especially the ham and wholegrain mustard one!
Cheese nights in the union are always fun if you're absolutely mashed, as well as School Disco nights.
mmm baguettes when me and my friend were visting her sistrer in Uni we made a feta cheese and avocado baguette when we were REALLY hngry didn't expect it to be but was actuall the nicest thing ever, not as nice since as the avocado is never as good/never as hungry
cheese nights are fun even if you're sober imo ^___^ you mean cheesey music like S club and other stuff? i think music like that is good even on non-cheese nights because many ppl are self-conious to dance but no-one can rwsiti dancing to S Club! seriousyl, lol and since there is actions u dont have be a good dancer, byt hr time its over ur ready to dance to anything
There's a tunnel going from Founder's to the boilerhouse - I know for a fact this is true, as one of my ex-housemates saw the entrance to it when stage-managing the 2006 Quad production.
The building with the College bookshop in it is listed and is even older than Founder's - it's where Mr Crossland (the architect of Founder's) lived while building was underway.
Apparently, Queen Victoria thought the architecture of Founder's was really over-the-top!
College legend has it that one day many many years ago during an exam, a student (who was sitting in front of the polar bear painting) was so distraught at how badly the exam was going that she poked a pencil up her nose so hard it pierced her brain, and she died as a result.
Because of this legend, during the exam period that particular painting is always covered up with a Union Jack flag. This bit is definitely true - I'm not pulling your leg! You'll see it for yourself if you ever have an exam in the Picture Gallery.

Lies! Maybe they used to but not anymore, it wasn't covered in any of my exams this year, I was terrified...but not nearly as much as the poor chumps sitting right next to it looked
My friend was doing a psychology exam in there and it wasn't covered up!! I always seem to miss the school disco nights I heard wheatus got booed and a lot of people weren't impressed..hmm, wish i hadn't missed it though!!
Oh, there is the legendary right angled tree between founder's and gowar and wedderburn!!

I remember them going down really well and being really impressed with them haha! It's probably just the beer goggles though...I met them afterwards and annoyed the crap out of them taking pictures. Ahhhh good times.
