The Student Room Group

moving in late

Hey

i am going to be moving in a week later then the rest of the people living in my new student house. no 1 has ever met each other before and im a bit worried that the people that move in before me will form a relationship leaving me on the outside for the rest of the year. i was just wondering if anyone else has been in this situation and what they have done? for example they might all get into a set routine which i completely disrupt once i get there. i understand this post is quite vague but i would appreciate if people could post anything that people think is appropriate or could help me

thanks!

I think after a week, when the novelty was died down a bit, they will be excited to have a new housemate. I wouldn't worry too much

I can see why it concerns you, but as long as you are very proactive in talking to people and getting phone numbers, asking where they are off to etc, you'll slot in fine.

I think if anything you might have an advantage as by the time you move in the novelty of a new housemate will be exciting and fun

one of my housemates moved in a week after everyone else, we were all actually really curious as to who the empty room belonged to, like Nally said you'll be a novelty! Also, a week is far too long for people to have got into a routine, I really wouldn't worry...
