My induction lasts for 2 weeks and a lot of the things are on during the evenings. I work 8pm-Midnight Monday to Friday and my boss can't give me any days off because we're short-staffed. So, I won't be able to go to a lot of the induction activities. Will the universities mind? Are all of the acitivities compulsory? TIA

Not really. Depends on the university but mostly its just getting to know the city, the uni, registration and socialising. Registration is the important official bit but some unis let you do it online so if yours is one of them then you can skip that. The rest is just plain having fun and adjusting to a new place .

Most of the things in the evenings are drinking/social activities anyway.

Are you going to work 8-12 every weeknight while at uni?
