Ethnic minorities at Bristol

I was just wondering what the presence of International students or Ethnic minorities is like at Bristol, as I have a Pakistani friend that went their a few years ago, and said the presence of Ethnic minorities at Bristol was minuscule

I seem to recall there being a large number of east asians on the international students DVD...perhaps the subcontinental presence is less pronounced here compared to, say, london.
either way...i'm sure all minorities are represented in some form or another. there are a lot of international students' societies and stuff on the ubu website (i think)

Im mixed race and heading to Bristol. Yes bristol is predominantly white but there are people from ethnic backgrounds there and its only a problem if you want it to be. From my experience on the open days people are very friendly and race really isnt an issue unless you make it out to be. Obviously there might be one or two racists but your going to get that anywhere. Basically dont let race sway your decision!

I only ask because I have lived in a very anglicized area of southern Spain for the past 8 years of my life, I would like to experience some other cultures apart from English and Spanish, but race is no way a deciding factor in my overall decision. It is more of matter of personal interest then anything else.
