So who's got into Gilbert Murray Stamford hall?

I'm in Lasdun Flr 1 Block I Room 7. I also applied for self-catering, but nevermind. Does anyone know what times they will be serving the evening meal? I worried that I'll keep missing it because of other commitments :frown:

Last year, it depended upon the hall that was serving the catered food but it was anywhere from about 5pm until 7pm. If you did have commitments at uni one evening, you could go to your halls reception and ask for a meal voucher so you can buy some food on campus instead!

i rang them up today saying i cant actually eat the food unless they want me to starve
i asked the guy if they got a kitchen and how many ppl sharing a bath or shower,he was like 5 to 10 people depending on the block you are put in.
all i know is dat am cooking cus i dont do british meals,sorry
i had to send an email saying i wanted a transfer and why i should get a transfer
they will let me know if i get a transfer after the term has started cus then some people would drop out,doesnt seem like any1 doin management studies

I know a lot about room 23 - it's one of the best rooms! It's got a broken window (unless they've fixed it) which means that the safety lock doesn't work and it full opens which is ACE.

Lme know how you all settle in :smile:

Yeah, it's all girls but Withcote (the block that joins on to it) is all lads so it's not an entirely hormonal house :p:

You'll see it when you move in and think "oh bloody hell!" (it's not a very picturesque building, get any images of Beaumont Hall out of your head right now :p:

) but inside it's pretty good, really big rooms (as uni rooms go) and 'mazin en suites :smile:

I did the same thing and told em i cant eat the food.
and i will probably end up cooking most the time too, though the thought of paying for food would tempt me to go eat there for the sake of it lol.

oh mannn.
and i also did the same process of emailing with the same reply about them letting me know if anything is open for me when the term starts. i get the bad feeling many people have done the same which means less chance of a transfer :\.
But i guess at least one plus side is that people in the same area all seem to be doing management studies like myself lol. im in Lasdun Block A, i think :P xxx

I wanted self catered too (I've got Coeliac Disease) but catered really isn't that bad. I'll miss it this year! The kitchen isn't wow, and there's about 12 people sharing it, but it does the job.

GMS is one hall, but Wistow is in the GM part of it

how come you got a transfer straight away,thought you have to wait till they start the term first.hows the new place,is it wat u wanted.i think i have to live with it but i hope am not sharing with lots of people.if you check the accommodation book it doesnt say how much per week but it says how much per term,last date for payment is 16th of october
