Uh, isn't promising somebody you'll never break up with them essentially marriage? And even then half the time it goes pear-shaped :rolleyes:

Agreed.

And even if such promise held true, that doesn't stop the other person breaking up with him, which may well be a result of something he has done. Such promises don't guarantee anything, other than a potential long and nasty break up. There's people who will happily cheat due to being "afraid" to make the move to break up.

Wow i really feel sorry for your bleak outlook on relationships. You know it is possible that a guy at the time does really mean the things he says. When he tells you he will never break up with you, at the time he can actually mean it, but hey feelings change, young love seldom ever lasts long.
But if you really think all men are evil, scheming and will say anything to get into a girls pants, then well good luck with that :smile:

With that much insecurity and paranoia, it's not surprising that she believes all men lie.

As for the OP, why are you starting different threads on the same guy? You're an adult, if you want to have a relationship with this guy then have one, if you don't then don't. What is there to solve here?
