Student Gym/ fitness club????
Hey... was just thinking about this acclaimed student beer belly that is apparently inevitable....
So is there
1- gym, fitness club, pool in durham
2- if so where is it
3- Do students get a discount??

From the prospectus it states all colleges but Trevs have gyms. The Trevs website mentions a multi-gym though, so you are probably safe to assume everywhere has a gym.
There is also a university gym down at the Graham Sports Centre in Maiden Castle, which I think is mainly for intensive training by university team members, but is also availible for general use.
There is a swimming pool next to Hild-Bede, which is just the Durham City Council owned one. http://www.durhamcity.gov.uk/html/leisure/centres/swimming.html
The college gyms are either free, or very cheap. The Uni gym requires you to have a sports-card (cost £10 per year) and there may be an additional per use charge, but I don't know what that would be.
There is a town swimming pool near my soon-to-be college Hild Bede. I think several colleges have their own gyms, HB certainly does. At any rate, there are so many sports on offer at Durham in terms of societies and facilities, you are sure to find enough activity to keep trim if you can make the effort! And then there is always crazy dancing at Klute and Rixies to work off that alcohol whilst you're still drinking it!
hmmmm i'm so glad theres access to a gym and pool i need to exercise other wise i get like i am now and its so frustrating!!! 
mind you i think i'm going to concentrate on running more, less money and theres the golf course right next to my college so hopefully will run round that depending if its a decent run!
