Usually theres cupboard/drawer space in the kitchen itself for people to share and use. Some unis give a locked cupboard to each person, some don't. Depends on your uni. You could choose to keep it in your room if you like.

I kept all that in the kitchen. Had two cupboards and two drawers. Nobody I knew kept it in thier room. Only kept my blender in my room as it wouldn't fit in the cupboard and took up too much space. Only used it occasionally. Would drive me insane to have to bring stuff from my room several times a day.

keep it in the kitchen, if it starts to disappear then keep it in your room.

I think it also depends where your going to eat the food - things like cutlery might be ok to keep in your room if your always going to take the food back to the room to eat it.

I used to store mine under my mattress.

Reply 6

Your joking right?

I remember in 1st year i used to keep all my pots and pans in my room, because no one ever the locked the kitchen and things started going missing... we had a tiny locker each which could barely fit much food in!

Yeah my spoons n forks got stolen all the time. and there wasnt much room elsewhere in my room. so i had to stick it wherever possible.

In a box on my floor was the perfect place for mine.

Reply 11

I think in 2nd semester it moved up and found a place in my wardrobe - it was so loved!

Reply 13

My wardrobe is full of thousands of clothes. I wouldnt want a curry stain lol.

Reply 14

lol...our uni wardrobes were really good - one half for hanging and the other half had shelves, so i just stuck the stuff on the shelves.

For freshers week this adorable geek moved in, he was terrified of me for some reason... but he used to keep all his food and cutlery and plates in his room. Everytime he came to the kitchen he'd come out with a bowl of stuff, lock his room, put it in the kitchen, unlock his room bring out more... lol and he had little laminated sheets his mum had made with things like:

BAKED BEANS, SAUSAGE and POTATOS

1) put the beans in a pan
2) turn on heat
3) let them warm DONT BOIL!!!
4) if you buy chips from the shop... don't cook the potatos aswell!

Poor thing :frown:

sorry conclusively...depeding on the hall kitchen im getting I have to decide whether to keep the cutlery stuff with me or lock it up in a kitcheN?

Simply the best plan is to trust fellow flatmates/sharing people, and keep it in the kitchen initially - if you notice things going missing then move it to your room. Its the best way.
