In comparison to LSE? No not really. Most people would probably rate it at somewhere around 15-ish position for Economics. If you have top grades, there are better options out there.

not particulaly on this thread but from the others it seems that after all, if u did not apply to warwick or got accepted you would not mind going to SOAS. Am i right?

I'm off to study Economics at QM this September. I have researched the school and the department, and I know I have made a good choice.

Instead of looking at the ranking tables I actually went to the university, spoke to staff and students, and looked at the QAA and the RAE. Career prospects are great once you graduate and if you did well you won't have problem getting into any top postgrad school after.

Of course you can't compare QM to the LSE or UCL, but you can be sure that you will get an eduation not far from the education those schools offer. If you take the 'ranking factor' out of the equation QM you will see how great QM is for Economics.

lol you didn't understand my list. it wasn't a "the one which would give me best employment opportunities/best rated unis for Economics" list...it was a "from where i would want to get a degree/spend 3 years at"...i don't want to do either @ Southampton or Manchester

if it was simply a "spend my 3 years at without caring about degree" it would be:

LSE
Oxford
St.Andrews
Durham
Edinburgh
Bristol

Why don't you have York in that list? It is definitely better than St. Andrews, Durham and SOAS for econ.

EDIT: Saw in your later post that you didn't only consider employment prospects. My bad.
