The Lion King [2019] - I thought Disney did a decent job actually, 8/10
I wasn't expecting it to have the same impact as the original [and it didn't], but I think it was a decent attempt. If you are old enough to have seen the original first time around then it might be worth checking out for nostalgia purposes.
Elisabeth - 8/10

An ambivalent film: In the one hand I like the middle age atmosphere and the actor's amazing designed costumes and Cate Blanchett as portrayed Elisabeth. Superb without a doubt. In the other hand - and that is one of my criteria when it is about a history film - the film confused the historical facts, that is a real pity and the reason why my rating is not higher as given above.

hehe, i am a big Kubrick fan - especially 2001 and A Clockwork Orange
The Remains of the Day - 9/10

In short: a masterpiece! What I really like most of all was the change between the flashbacks and the flash-forwards to skip from the past to the presence. This film assembled the love story and the political issues as main topics perfectly.
Moonlight - 10/10

A brilliant film! A young black boy, grown up with a stoned and drugs addicted mother in a criminal surrounding gets bullied through his life because of homophobic people can't accept his homosexuality. The spectators have to come to a judge of their own, the film does not rate the life and the circumstances at all. It is a film that let us think about the happenings, everything is up to us. Don't forget to mention the sensitive moments!

As it is one of these films I think about to watch, but didn't so far, I guess it is the best to frame it to have a true resistance.

Shakespeare in Love - 9/10

Great film. If Shakespeare would be still alive, he would have liked it. Very well played love story of two main characters with a passion for theatre. :congrats:

One of my favourite films of all time! "Gentlemen! You can't fight in here! This is the War Room!" Peter Sellers does an excellent Job. I love him as the President and Dr Strangelove, but I must say that Mandrake is my favourite character of his in this film.

Did you know the table in the war room was actually bright green? Kubrick really wanted the actors to feel like they were at a poker table. Similarly, the plane interior had to be guessed from previous planes, as it was classified information at the time, and the US Gov would not let him even have a peek. Apparently when government officials saw it they were shocked at how many of the small details were perfect (including the location of the black box.) Apparently Kubrick was certain that his set designers were so terrified of him that they broke into an air force base to have a look at the real plane to get it accurate enough. XD

I think you're the only person on the internet who actually enjoyed that thing!
I haven't seen the reviews  :nah:
I did think I should have maybe read the books first for a bit of backstory (which is what I usually tend to do if a film is based on a book) but oh well :colondollar:
