It depends. Making porridge then its milk first for an accurate measure. Something dry, then its after.
I only pour the milk first if I have already finished one bowl and there is too much milk left. So I add more cereal to use up the remainder of the milk. Like I did with my Rice Krispies this morning after sharing the first bowl full of them with my 5 month old kitten ! EDITED TO ADD, Pumpkin didn't eat/drink out of the bowl I was eating out of. I put a few small spoons of Rice Krispies and milk on the floor for her.

But how do you know how much milk you need?
Its better to put the milk second so you actually know how much cereal you have put in:lol:

Depends what cereal you have. I generally don't have warm cereal, apart from porridge and weetabix.

but then again I only have a tiny drizzle of milk on mine...
