Hmmm hard to answer really, define serious. I've had lots of dates that lasted a few weeks, but I dont know if that would classify as a serious relationship...

My first one started on my 15th birthday and lasted for over a year. He was 17. In some ways I regret it now, it did teach me a lot but the break up was MESSY, and I was just too young.

He went off to uni, we ended up breaking up - fine in itself, but it was more the him shouting and crying anytime I went near another man, punching holes in his university door/walls, and eventually refusing to speak to me/my friends for 2 years (and whenever meeting someone I vaguely knew saying "can you please not mention Ciara"). Aaa scary.

I was 16 and i stayed with him for two and a half years  we're not together anymore but we're still good friends.

Ouch. Sounds like you had a lucky escape. Possessive men scare me.

Hehe the funny thing is, some time into my first year at uni, after 2 years of ignoring my existence, I got an email from him saying "alright, hows it going?" sort of thing. I guess it took him years to stop being insane. We're now actually friends, meet up for a drink now and then. After all that time apart I have no idea how we ever went out, I can't imagine it now. Ah well, you live and learn!

I must admit that I was a bit like this in my early 20s. I used to get utterly destroyed when a relationship ends, so I know how it feels. People do mature over time.
