Is it asking too much?

Please let this stay anon as my boyfriend now comes to this site occasionally.

So, my boyfriend of roughly four months does'nt have a car. This did'nt bother me before, but latly it feels like I'm the one who always has to go out of my way to see him. Public transportation here isn't so great, and I realize it would be time consumming and difficult at times for him to come and see me, since we don't live so close to eachother, however, is it really fair of him to expect me to schedule my day around him so that we may see eachother? I mean I feel like this is always on my shoulder... :s-smilie:

Lately, it's been cumbersome because he just moved and is now even further way, and thus all this driving between our two places add's a ridicuous amount of milage to my car and is very expensive because of gas. He is willing to pay for my gas, but still traffic is HORRIBLE during rush hour and it's just like I'm the one who always has to plan things...please let me know if I'm being unreasonable here or what?

Yeah, it is a bit unreasonable. What is he meant to do when you want to see him? Learning to drive, as you know takes a long time and costs alot of money, and you said yourself that public transport isn't very good.

I think you need to show a little more patience, I am sure when he is ready he will learn to drive which as the above poster mention, does take a bit of time. It's not like you have to see him everyday either., just tell him it's a bit hard for you to come and see him all the time.

I don't think it's unreasonable to expect him to make a bit of effort. Why don't you try and find a place to meet that's halfway between your houses? If there's somewhere that he can get to by public transport, then plan to meet there.

Once he's got some wheels he'll be less relent on you for lifts and see eachother more offten than currently!
