Malaga

Thinking about going on holiday with my friends next summer (probs July) to Malaga. We wana fly from East Midlands airport, so anyone know of any airlines/websites that do cheap flights? & anyone know any good accom in Malaga? Any websites that do cheap deals? Like a self-catered appartment thats not too expensive? Looking for 6 people.
Also has anyone been before? What's malaga like? is it a really nice place?

hmm... I've been there, but I don't remember much about it, which I don't think is a good sign... had a cool fort type thing...

as for accom, you can try posting on the thorn tree forum on the lonely planet website, yore more likely to get a usefull travellers response there. hope you have fun!!

Malaga is an okish city in itself, but going there is kinda like going on hols in the uk - just with nicer weather.... There's just too many Brits there, along with too many Germans and too many Scandinavians...
It's ok if you are going there just for sea, sand and partying, but if you are there to experience a different country/culture, my advice is don't go there...

Anyways, if you've already booked tickets or sth, then I would say, try doing something different whilst you're there, like going rock climbing in El Chorro, or taking the trip to Tarifa to do some surfing/kite surfing.. (Obvo if you're interested in that kinda thing...)

Just try getting a lil bit more inland, to see more of the proper Spanish culture... But of course, if it's a booze trip, Malaga is an ok choice...

Dunno much about accommodation, sorry...

You might as well look on expedia.co.uk but if your lloking for cheap prices look at bmibaby or jet2 and i think easyjet fly too. I just came back from marbella yesterday (flew from malaga) and I know they all fly from there.

I prefer bmibaby..not sure but they might give you a bit more luggage allowance as well (dont quote me on tht). I dont really like jet2 because they are older planes with no tv in the headset or above and its a bit cramped.

Not been to Malaga for a holiday but it's always hot down there!
