Computer Studies is more vocational, about how computers are used in businesses and generally a soft subject. Computer science is about coding coding coding

The modular A level was called Computing (last chance to re-sit in Summer 2017). When it was redeveloped as a linear A level Ofqual decided it should be called called Computer Science but one directly replaces the other. The first A level exams for Computer Science are in Summer 2017. I'm not aware of any A levels in Computer Studies.

Computer Science is all about programming: web technologies, software development, object orientated programming, algorithms, software engineering, etc.

Do Computer Science and do this for uni and these are the career paths open to you:

1) Programmer: Java, C#, Python, C++, Scala
2) Web Developer
3) Software developer, engineer
4) Network engineer, analyst
5) AI
6) Multimedia
7) IT security
8) System developer, analyst
9) Solutions
10) Software tester
11) Video games developer
12) Many more

Short, concise and CORRECT answer (just some simple summaries):

Computer Science - The study of algorithms and other logical procedures that occur in a computer system. This can extend to programming (object-oriented), and the various other concepts such as: data structures, computational thinking, data representation, computer systems, computer organisation and architecture, communication and networking and finally, databases. Computer Science is seen to be more "maths-heavy" and more difficult than Computer Studies

Computer Studies – The ethical reasons and applied uses of computers and technology in our world. This can extend to: ethical use of computers and technology, how certain aspects of computers work (brief), computers in the industry (business), communication and networking, and the fundamentals of databases and its uses. Computer studies is seen to be easier than Computer Science, and follows the same fundamentals as ICT pretty much.
