so i've been reading a few of the other threads and am now confused about what to do regarding declining AS grades.
My grades have been cashed in by the school and we have the option to decline them if we wish. So, as it stands here is what i wish to do..

Maths : (A) Do not want to resit anything, i am happy with my grade and am carrying it onto A2
Biology, Chemistry : (B) Wish to resit one module for each and carry it onto A2
English Lit : (C) Wish to resit one module but i am not carrying it onto A2
General Studies : (D) we have to do this, and we have to do it to A2. I dont want to resit any of them but i don't really want unis seeing this grade.

I wish to apply to Medicine, AAB being the normal requirement, so as it stands i'm one grade off. I don't want to decline some and not others as i think it looks strange. However as its the schools policy to cash them in, will unis know this and assume the worst?

Thanks for any advice and sorry for yet another thread!

You will have to decline English Lit, since you want to resit and aren't carrying on to A Level.
You can decline General Studies, and since yoy don't want unis seeing the grades, that's probably what you want to do.
You could decline Bio and Chem if you wanted, or you could leave them. I would personally be inclined to say leave them so that the unis can see you didn't do too badly, but it's up to you.
    Leave Maths as it is.

I would say that if you decline all, unis will wonder why. They also will only have your predicted grades to go off. If you demonstrate you have some grades, even though it will be ABB, they'll know you're not doing really badly.

Thanks for the reply. So as long as i get my teachers to predict me the required grades then it should be ok? Also would i get the teachers to mention i am resitting a module in each?

Also, when entering my grades onto UCAS, do i put my grades for Maths, Biology and Chemistry for AS along with English Lit Pending, and then put Maths Biology and Chemistry again in A2 along with General Studies all as pending?

And for English, do i put the module grades for the ones which i am not resitting, or just leave them all as pending?

    Thanks again!

Yep, ask your teachers to predict you AAB, which should be fine since you're only one grade off, and ask your referee to mention that you're resitting a module in each of the subjects you got Bs in. Unis know that sometimes students can have a bad day and that it's possible to improve from AS to A2 with resits, so as long as you're predicted grades are good enough, you should be OK, although obviously medicine is very competitive. I think what you said was right about putting maths, biology and chemistry as AS with English lit pending, then maths, biology, chemistry and General Studies as A2 pending, and I think you put all the English modules as pending because you've declined your grade, but I'm not sure, so hopefully Juno can confirm/correct that.

Thank you very much for the reply.
I know i cant use it as an excuse, as others had it worse than i did, but i had my maths chemistry and biology all one day after the other, so i think that might have affected it, but im glad it happened as its shown me i did more time to prepare!
