cliche extended essay?

Hi, I'm doing my group 1 EE on james joyce's ulysses and im worried. I've recently heard that EEs on his book Dubliners was fairly common, and now I'm wondering if his more famous book, Ulysses, would be even more common. Even though I realize that you could always find a new exciting angle to any book, I dont really want to do an EE on a book that has been overdone. Does anyone know if Ulysses has been done often for an EE, or if anyone you know is also doing it?

Thanks.

Not a clue. And it doesn't matter, either.

You're not there to give the examiner an exciting new insight into Ulysses, you're there to give him a good essay on it, that he can give you an A for.

Just get a good, focussed question and proceed to jump through the hoops on the marking criteria.

Agree with him. I highly doubt that they get many unique topics for EE. I did RSA cryptography (math) because I just randomly stumbled on it only to find 2 other persons (probably many more I dont know about) did it year before. And this is Math EE which is one of the most unpopular subjects for EEs. Although yes it is believed if you come up with some unique way for looking at things, it might get a favourable response from the examiner but in no way will you be penalised for saying things they heard before.
