Let's just say nothing's fully set in stone but I'm quietly optimistic! *crosses fingers*

Oh dear god, please :p:
I knew what I was letting myself in for in applying to SB halls, and I am prepared for the walk, but it'd just be so nice to have the ..well, the option..

Yeah, I'm inclined to agree with that. Traffic in Bristol's pretty bad-does the bus actually work out that much faster than walking?

well, yeah, it probably wont be too bad during the first few weeks whilst the weather is still alright.. but what about when its pissing it down, and you have a 9am?

Brolly and rain coat. I have yet to fail too badly with that combination and find it quite refreshing! ... Although my friend once forgot his brolly and swore he was melting a little.

edit: lol ;p

This can definitely be done on a bus...

Theres a difference between having a 30min walk with your mates in the open air and a 5 minute smelly/noisy bus ride. I know which I would prefer, although at the end of the day its of little importance.

The bus isn't 5 mins in the traffic. I faced a 30 min journey sometimes last year....

i'm not saying i'd use the bus all the time, but on the days where i really cant be arsed to get up early for a 9am lecture, i'd like to have the option of getting a bus that isn't ridiculously expensive

just out of curiosity...is 9am the EARLIEST we would possibly have our lectures?

@ stepheh: you know that means getting up at 8.45 for me  (+ leisurely stroll)

Normally, but there are exceptions. For instance, I have a friend who has just finished his second year of Dentistry and he has had some 8am lectures this year!

wowza. Let's see how the Union react if they get a peek at this. The SB bus has been a pretty contested point over the last year with most if not all candidates running for UBU positions making it a fairly high priority. I'm sure they'll love hearing pre-freshers saying they wish they didn't bother.

Oh, and before you ask. Bristol Univ does seem to have eyes and ears on this forum. I found out the hard way...
