Apparantly the first working telephone system was actually invented in Vietnam of all places though this only a recent discovery. Didn't bell just steel the patient or somthing via leaked post?

Who knows? The rewriting of history as we discover new evidence is a wonderful thing. We'll probably find in a hundred years' time that the Babylonians had a broadband service.

Yep that was the internal combustion engine but did it run off petrol? That is what I wasn't sure about. Apparantly the valves of the Citreon C2V are made of a material which will let it burn alchohol. The idea is that if the french ran out of petrol in an remote area they could put wine in the engine instead of petrol. This worked for about 2 miles and then the engine would need cleaning although this is very very easy on a 2cv.
