I need help deciding which A-levels to choose, just like so many other people on here.

I'm stuck between Economics, Business Studies, Physics, Psychology and Maths.

I want a job in the financial services if that helps. Would I be good enough to take Maths or Physics with a B at GCSE?

Here are my GCSE results:

English Lit: A
Business and Communication Systems: A
Resistant Materials: A
Maths: BB
Art: B
RE: B
Science: BB
Geography: C
French: C
English Lan:C

Any help will be greatly appreciated.

If you can do Economics over Business Studies then definitely do that; for anything within the financial sector maths is generally essential so that would also be one to take. Your GCSE grades suggest you have a talent for English Literature, so if that's something you enjoy, take it; it'll add diversity to your combination. Other than that your fourth AS Level could be anything you wanted: Psychology would be fine but be cautious of blacklists, some universities frown upon students having too many subjects of limited suitability; Psychology and Business Studies both fall under this category. This might not matter if you're not applying to universities such as Oxbridge and LSE but it's still something to consider.

Whatever you do, DO NOT do both economics and business studies!!! They are far too similiar and unis don't like that! Maths is a great subject to have, very useful and with effort, revision and commitment you'll do well at A Level even if you did get a B at GCSE!

I would think maths has to be one of your choices.

on the physics side of things I would have to say that the maths content of the Physics Alevel is very limited so I wouldnt worry about it with a B at GCSE maths

Maths and Physics go hand in hand, plus they are very useful as well as interesting

I'm going to go with Maths, Economics, Psychology and Resistant Materials.

Resistant Materials because I know i'm good at it and I will enjoy it.
Maths and Economics because they will be a challange and are favoured by unis.
I think Psychology will be interesting although I think it is blacklisted.
